Before founding Murphy Mill Services in 2013, Charles was a Partner and Engineer at Ridgewood USA, where he oversaw operations and maintenance support for various pipe and tube manufacturers. He was responsible for project quoting, hiring and training field service teams, managing spare parts sales, and office administration.

Charles brings specialized technical expertise in high-frequency welders (both vacuum tube and solid-state), A.C. and D.C. mill drive systems, PLC programming and debugging, as well as electrical distribution systems. His proficiency extends to managing large-scale capital projects, coordinating contractors, training maintenance personnel, and generating detailed electrical and mechanical schematics for effective system troubleshooting.

His earlier career includes key maintenance and technical roles at Bull Moose Tube, Allied Tube & Conduit, and Thermatool, where he worked globally as a field service technician. Charles began his technical training and leadership development in the U.S. Navy, serving as an Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class Nuclear Rating aboard the USS Jack (SSN 605), where he was awarded several commendations, including the Navy Unit and Presidential Unit Citations.
